- Physically set up and configure network settings for one router.
- Complete internet service provider (ISP) setup and connect the router to the modem.
- Update the router firmware, if necessary.
- Assign a unique name (SSID) to the network.
- Enable wireless encryption on the network to protect personal information and secure the broadband signal from unauthorized use.
- Change the administrator username and password.
- Enable devices to share the internet, files, printers, and other media, such as photos, videos, and music.
- Connect networkable devices to the network, including computers, gaming consoles, Blu-ray/DVD players, televisions, and more.
- Add one additional device to the network.
- Test and fix any network or internet connectivity issues, if necessary.
